Early Life

Born on 23rd March, 1953 in Chinderi, Volta Region to Pa. Shittu Adepoju and late Ayisatu Abio. Attended L.A. Primary and Middle Schools in Chinderi, graduated with Distinction (1969). Only candidate from his school to pass Grade One in 1969.

Education & Leadership

Baptist High School, Shaki (1973) → only candidate with Grade One Pass in Oke-Ogun. Appointed school social prefect. University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo) → Law degree → Bar (1979) → Doctorate.

Political Career

Elected to Oyo State House of Assembly (1979–1983). Honourable Commissioner for Home Affairs, Information and Culture, Oyo State. Attorney-General and Honourable Commissioner for Justice. Nigeria's Minister of Communications.

Community Impact

Founder/Proprietor: International Muslim School, Al-Furqaan International College (Osun State). Chairman: Muslim Hospital, Shaki. Publisher/Editor-in-Chief: 'Oyo State Year-Book', 'Who's Who'. Legal Advisor/Patron to over 30 Muslim Youth Organizations.

Author & Visionary

Soft-spoken, highly intelligent and socialist-oriented visionary with strong convictions. Most passionate adherence to principles. In religion as in politics, on public morality as in spiritual matters, Dr. Shittu holds very strong views. Author of "Muslim Prayers for Everyday Success" - a transformative work.
